Where have all the flowers gone?

This is one of my favorite hikes...I absolutely LOVE the blanket of wildflowers that cover these hills.  I'm sorry to say that it looks like we were about two weeks early for them.  Oh well, I guess that we'll have to do this hike again in a couple of weeks!  It's still beautiful in my opinion!

Make the Most of What You Get! SNOW!!!

OK....I must say that I really don't mind this snow, it melts so quickly and it makes everything SO beautiful!  For instance, take a look at the beautiful pictures that I took today.

The only problem is that I can't do the hikes that I've scheduled for this spring!  Here is a picture that I took from the trailhead of todays planned hike.

And my husband isn't a short man...6'7" to be exact!

One other problem with the continual snow, is that I can't get my garden planted!  Here's a picture of my garden as of yesterday.  This morning when I woke up, there was a beautiful white blanket of snow, covering everything!  

If only I could do my hikes and plant my garden, I really wouldn't mind this snow at all!  I guess that we should make the most of this wet stuff, because all too soon, we will have the scorching heat!  Let's all relax and look for the beauty of this time of year!

Spring in Utah

Ok...today the weather was typical for spring here in Salt Lake City, Utah.  When I went into the store this morning it was a little overcast, and fairly warm.  I was shocked when I went to my car nearly an hour later and there were huge snowflakes falling.  The white stuff fell until early afternoon...it laid down quite a bit of snow in a short time.   By the time that my daughter went home at around 5:00, nearly all of the snow had already melted!  This is also the time of year that if you go anywhere in your car, you turn on the heater in the morning, and the air-conditioner in the afternoon.

Melissa and I had fun following this cute little girl around today! She's a walking target.....I think that Melissa and I both are exhausted from that photo shoot! Have you ever tried to get a one year old to sit still for longer than a minute? We finally gave up on the backdrop and props and followed her lead. What a challenge it was to get her attention, and a smile at the same time! Now I know why professional photographers have the automatic advance on their cameras, that would've made such a huge difference! It was a challenge, but it was totally worth it!
