My youngest son, Drew, is on a mission for our church. He's serving in Indiana. You know, as mothers this is something that we prepare our boys to do their whole lives, but when it comes time to actually say good-bye to them, it's kind of hard. We prepare our boys, but we don't really prepare ourselves. We send them out knowing that we won't be able to talk to them (other than two calls per year) for 2 years.
As hard as it is, we really wouldn't rather have him anywhere else. Not only are the lives of those that he teaches blessed, but generations upon generations will be blessed as well. Heavenly Father is blessing our family for his service, and I KNOW that he's growing as well!
I'm posting my son's letters on my blog for my family and friends. This is the letter that I received today. I was really bummed yesterday because I didn't get a letter from him, but I was so thankful when I opened my email and found this letter.
Yes....It's pure JOY to have my son served a mission....difficult at times, but good!
